Here’s a breakdown of some of the websites we’ve developed using the Rutgers Website Template, a flexible starting point at a fraction of the cost.

Rutgers Senate

The Rutgers university Senate reached out to us to handle the design, development, and maintenance of their new website using our Rutgers Website Template. We used the flexible features of the WordPress CMS to create custom post types representative of all aspects of the Senate, including senators, committees, charges, reports, and meetings. This allows the Senate web team to quickly and easily add new content to the site in a way that interacts with every aspect of the Senate, such as profile pages cataloging each senator’s committee memberships and attendance on a per-term basis.

After the site’s November 2019 launch, new functionality was required to host the virtual Senate Executive Committee elections due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. To facilitate this, we built a custom form that could be updated in real time to allow for multiple rounds of voting. Senators were prompted to simultaneously submit their votes via WebEx call, successfully holding the virtual election to its fullest extent.

Rutgers Canvas

Canvas was in need of an improved web presence to match its new status as Rutgers’ primary LMS. To create a portal of Canvas resources for the Rutgers community, we planned the site’s architecture, migrated all relevant content, and built it all in WordPress using our Sites@Rutgers template.

The Feminist Art Project

The Feminist Art Project is a program at the Center for Women in the Arts and Humanities that archives feminist art, publications, and events. Their previous calendar was running on an outdated Django application, and the project was in need of a new online home. We migrated data from the Django calendar onto the Rutgers site template, and then recreated the calendar functionality using Vue.js to allow for a more modern user experience that is easily accessible to the TFAP Team.
